Meeting children's developmental needs
VTT’s play-based Early Childhood program serves children aged 3-5. Our curriculum follows credible child development research that children learn best through play. In play, children develop fundamental critical thinking, creative and social skills. The curriculum is designed to meet the needs and strengths of each child and foster growth in all developmental domains. It allows children to make choices, encourages independence and integrates Judaism throughout the day. It gives opportunities to explore, inquire, discover, create and learn with materials that are stimulating, challenging and creative.

We also aim for each child to develop a strong Jewish identity based on joyful experiences and to immerse the students in the warmth and beauty of a traditional Jewish life. We strive to embrace Judaism in such a manner that ALL families feel comfortable regardless of home religious observance.
ISTEAM & ENRICHMENT ACTIVITIES
Developing the whole child
ISTEAM (Israel Innovation, Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math) is a new initiative at VTT that includes our early childhood students. This program serves to enhance the relevancy of our Judaics’ curriculum while offering the opportunity for students to develop meaningful life skills. Some activities include culinary arts, curriculum-connected science experiments and sewing to develop fine motor skills and precision.
We offer enrichment activities by specialist faculty. All students participate in music, movement and art. JK students also benefit from participating in health and physical education classes twice a week.

OUR PROGRAM
Full & Half-Day Options Available
- VTT’s Early Childhood program is fully licensed by Vancouver Coastal Health and has a 1:8 staff-student ratio.
- Our Rishonim program (age 3) has two enrollment options: half-day (8:15 a.m until 12 p.m.) and full day (8:15 a.m. until 3:20 p.m.)
- Our Junior Kindergarten (age 4) is a full-day program and runs from 8:15 a.m. until 3:20 p.m.
- For those families needing a longer school day, our aftercare runs until 5pm.
- Students enrolled in full-day programs have the option to participate in our catered kosher hot lunch program. A few of VTT’s after school programs are open to JK students as well.
